Developing ESP

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Developing ESP, or extra-sensory perception, is often considered to be one and the same with the development of psychic powers. In some cases, it is, but in the majority of people, they are separate and distinct abilities.

ESP is the ability to sense things which others cannot, which is very similar to what many psychics feel they are capable of doing. The primary difference between the two skills is that psychic ability draws meaning from the things that are sensed, while ESP is the simple cognition of the fact that something exists.

The difference is in the term “perception” versus the “understanding and meaning” which comes with psychic abilities.

Most psychics start with having some ESP, and maybe a few psychic thoughts, but primarily being unable to actually do anything with it, even understanding what, or who it may be about.

Moving from developing ESP to developing psychic abilities is a significant achievement.

However, you cannot achieve meaning without recognizing that something exists. Thus, developing ESP is particularly important for students who find that their psychic premonitions or messages are not coming through often enough for them to work with them.

Developing ESP can be done in a variety of ways, and one of the best is though using “Zener Cards”. These are the five or six different cards each containing a shape like a heart or a star, which were used in experiments dating since 1882. While it is largely impossible for people to have a 100% recognition rate, it is possible to practice with cards like these to develop some appreciation of your ability.

You must also believe that these kinds of abilities are possible. Denying them in your mind will allow your brain to dismiss the sense and you won’t be capable of receiving messages through your 6th sense. Even Wikipedia states that “50 studies were published, of which 33 were contributed by investigators other than Rhine and the Duke University group; 61% of these independent studies reported significant results suggestive of ESP.”

Really, check it out.

It is possible to develop ESP abilities, but it is more important to add some meaning to your premonitions. Develop your psychic abilities to do this. This may be one of the most important steps in increasing psychic communication.

Mastering Psychic Abilities

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

When you are first learning how to control your psychic abilities, and even just to understand them, you are working towards a level of mastery which relatively few people have ever attained. Even though the amount of work and study being done by you is fairly small, the vast majority of the world has never considered that these kinds of skills can be, or even should be learned. Mastering psychic abilities in the truest sense of the word may well be impossible even over the course of a human lifetime, but there are some things which we can do everyday to work towards mastery.

First and foremost is to keep in mind the basic psychic development exercises which we do on a daily basis (yes, daily). Also abilities in their Mastering psychic abilities in their truest sense may well be impohat these kinds of skills can look towards discovering new methods and activities which you can do from time to time as a way of strengthening your power. The more things you can discover which increase your psychic communications and your ability to understand the messages you receive, the better off you will be.

Also remember to keep a journal as I recommend in my free psychic powers ebook (available here). This journal will soon become an essential tool to anyone who is looking at mastering psychic abilities.

It will certainly help you increase your level of understanding your abilities by writing down and passing on your knowledge to others. I have learned an incredible amount of information in just the past couple of months by maintaining this blog and newsletter. Training others myself, and helping them come to new realizations has led me to get new insights on my own abilities, particularly when they ask me questions about subjects which I once thought I knew everything about.

I am eternally grateful to all of you readers, both of this blog and of my newsletter for having helped me in my quest for mastering psychic abilities.

Other Psychic Development Exercises

While meditation and things like that are probably the very best psychic development exercises, there are many other things that you can try when attempting to develop your psychic powers.

I have always been an advocate of improving the mind and the spirit by improving the body, so I’ve been interested in things like Yoga and the martial arts as good methods of improving psychic ability. In addition to the obvious benefits of working out your body and mind, these disciplines often involve some aspects of meditation and even have their own psychic development exercises built in to the curriculum (in fact, not too long ago, I posted in my newsletter about chi and it’s application in psychic development).

In addition to this, you can also try listening to particularly emotive music. This in particular has allowed me to see more than I think I would have normally.

Go out and explore nature on a quiet afternoon walk through a forest preserve or some other place like that. There are many secrets hidden in nature that might reveal themselves to someone looking for answers. I’ve had a few students comment to me that they’ve used the reflective surface of lakes as divination tools, and collected stones to use for rune-tiles from their walks.

Peter Altuch posted a while back on hrshopperblog about how to use drawing as a psychic development exercise.

Are you seeing a trend here? Anything that you find peaceful can be used as a way to quiet the mind. Quieting the mind is, without a doubt, the most important psychic development exercise you can learn. Fortunately, there are many different ways to do that.

Want to know How to be Psychic?

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Learning how to be psychic is actually quite a simple process, though you’ll have to put in some effort to improve your powers to a significant level.

As I’ve posted a few times before, almost every psychic in the world considers every person in the world to have some psychic powers. The reason is simple: we all are people of the same species, and thus, we all have similar abilities. Certainly, even though some people can sing better than others, every person on the planet can sing. The same is true of psychic powers.

If you want to know how to be psychic, the first thing you need to do is to be cognizant of the fact that you’re having psychic premonitions every day. A psychic event is whenever you know something will happen without having some sort of facts or previous knowledge that it will happen.

That could be almost anything, but most commonly, it occurs when you create a psychic connection with your friends or your partner. There are times when you can simply look at a person and you can tell what they are thinking, or what happened. While certainly, you are reading in some context clues, there is a great deal that isn’t being communicated by body language which you can usually fill in. For instance, you may be able to tell that they are having a bad day from a person’s face, but if you know who or what caused that bad day to happen, you are using your psychic powers, often without even knowing that you had them.

So if you wanted to find out how to be psychic, sorry, you already are. If you want to know a little more about how to improve your psychic abilities, consider signing up for my newsletter and getting my beginner’s guide (all free!).

Improving Psychic Powers

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Of course, just like you can work out to improve your muscles, you can find ways of improving psychic powers. After having worked with the basics for some time, you should definitely move on and explore what else you can do to further your own development.

At the point when you’ve grown beyond the initial phase of psychic development, it is important that you focus on one particular art or skill, and I would recommend using this list of psychic skills to find one or more areas where you can excel. There are really no “universal” steps which you can take for each different skill, and as a result, it is important to find a manual or a course which is particularly tailored to your particular focus.

In-person training is ideal, but unfortunately, few individuals have the time or the money to be able to commit to a 6-month training session in Sedona. Occasionally, you can find a psychic who is willing to act as a teacher, but this is rare, and you must be willing to trust them, which can be quite difficult.

Another option is to focus on improving psychic powers through an online course. Some universities offer this as a no-credit course, though taking it through a formal institution will end up being very expensive. When I decided on improving psychic powers through this route for myself, I took a class authored by the Psychic Institute, and I found it to be very helpful in focusing my energies and giving me ideas on new training methods.

Classes are by far the best way to go about improving psychic powers, and if you’re at all serious about getting involved with psychic training, then you should really check out the link below:
