Other Psychic Development Exercises
While meditation and things like that are probably the very best psychic development exercises, there are many other things that you can try when attempting to develop your psychic powers.
I have always been an advocate of improving the mind and the spirit by improving the body, so I’ve been interested in things like Yoga and the martial arts as good methods of improving psychic ability. In addition to the obvious benefits of working out your body and mind, these disciplines often involve some aspects of meditation and even have their own psychic development exercises built in to the curriculum (in fact, not too long ago, I posted in my newsletter about chi and it’s application in psychic development).
In addition to this, you can also try listening to particularly emotive music. This in particular has allowed me to see more than I think I would have normally.
Go out and explore nature on a quiet afternoon walk through a forest preserve or some other place like that. There are many secrets hidden in nature that might reveal themselves to someone looking for answers. I’ve had a few students comment to me that they’ve used the reflective surface of lakes as divination tools, and collected stones to use for rune-tiles from their walks.
Peter Altuch posted a while back on hrshopperblog about how to use drawing as a psychic development exercise.
Are you seeing a trend here? Anything that you find peaceful can be used as a way to quiet the mind. Quieting the mind is, without a doubt, the most important psychic development exercise you can learn. Fortunately, there are many different ways to do that.
